01Identify the television platform
Open the television settings and note the manufacturer, model and software version. Two TVs with the same brand can have different operating systems, app stores and supported players.
Search the television’s official app store for the compatible player recommended for your model and region. Do not assume an app shown in an old tutorial is still available.
- Record the exact model
- Update the television software
- Check the official app store
- Confirm available storage and network connection
02Choose between a TV app and streaming device
A native television app keeps the setup simple. A separate Fire TV, Android TV or Apple TV device can be useful when the television store has limited player options or the built-in hardware is older.
The best option is the one that runs reliably on your actual screen. A trial allows you to compare before committing to a longer pass.
03Keep the television connection stable
Use Ethernet when it is practical, or connect through a strong 5 GHz or newer Wi-Fi signal. Disable aggressive energy-saving network settings if they repeatedly disconnect the television while streaming.
